Fire Razed Pagi Sore Restaurant in Pondok Kelapa

A Pagi Sore Restaurant owned by Hendri (51) that located at Jl Kalimalang, Block MI A1 Pondok Kelapa, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta was caught on fire today, Wednesday (8/3), at around 6.30 AM.

Temporary allegation, fire is due to fuel filling in the shredded machine

Section Head of Operation for East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept, Gatot Sulaiman disclosed that fire occurred when an employee of the restaurant was filling subsidized fuel in a coconut shredded machine. Due to lack of caution, the fuel then hit a rice cooker.

An explosion from the machine had happened and made all employees panicked. Some were trying to use portable fire extinguisher tool and water to put out the flames.

Not long after, the fire truck immediately sent to the scene and managed to control the flames about 30 minutes.

"Temporary allegation, fire is due to fuel filling in the shredded machine. Due to lack of caution, the fuel hit the rice cooker and caused the flames," he told.

There was no casualty reported in the incident. And the loss is reaching Rp 10 million.

"Fire only burns the kitchen in the size of 3x4 meters," he closed.
